The Cradle Through College (C2C) Coalition is back in action for the 2017 legislative session. C2C includes a broad range of organizations and individuals committed to closing the opportunity gap and investing in the education continuum from early learning through higher education. C2C was originally launched in 2014 by several organizations and individuals concerned with the Washington’s approach to funding basic education in light of the Supreme Court’s McCleary decision.
Joining together to demand equitable and targeted funding for the entire education continuum, nearly 200 school districts, institutions of higher education, early learning providers, business groups, nonprofit organizations, and individuals from across the state signed on to the core principles adopted by the coalition. Successful advocacy by this broad coalition during the 2015 legislative session helped shift the narrative in Olympia and strengthened the push for funding the full continuum of education.
C2C is supported by the Community Center for Education Results, which also supports the Road
Map Project.
